The Shire of Kalamunda will be undertaking a stormwater drainage upgrade in the Kalamunda Town Centre. New drainage will be installed along the top of Kalamunda Road, near Stirk Park, on Canning Road, Haynes Street and Barber Street.
CEO Rhonda Hardy said, “Whilst we will experience some short term disruption the works will increase the drainage capacity of the existing system and pave the way for future improvements to the Town Centre.”
The Shire and its contactor, Densford Civil, are very conscious of the location and focused on minimising disruption to businesses and residents throughout the construction period.
Works will start in the week of 3 July 2017 and are expected to be complete in October 2017. Shoppers are asked to be patient whilst works are underway.
The installation of drainage infrastructure will be followed by the re-construction of the roundabout on Kalamunda Road/Canning Road and reinstatement of affected asphalt, driveway, kerb and verges, all in manageable sections as work progresses.
The planned works will be undertaken within the road reserve.
Local partial road closures will be in place during different stages of the works. Detours will be in place, with signage to advise residents during those stages of the project.
