Fitness classes, guest speakers and a networking session are some of the activities on offer at the City of Kalamunda’s 2018 International Women’s Day celebration at Hartfield Park Recreation Centre on 8 March.

Following the theme #PressforProgress, women from across the community are invited to come along and celebrate achievements and most importantly, highlight gender equality.

CEO Rhonda Hardy said, “The City of Kalamunda recognises International Women’s Day as a significant time for celebrating the progress of women’s rights and achievements. Whilst we have come a long way, we must not forget there is still work to be done. Like this year’s theme suggests, we must press forward.

The day will kick off at 9am with a welcome. Attendees can then take part in a number of empowering Lesmills fitness classes including Body Pump Express, CX Worx and Body Balance. A special “bring a friend for free” offer will be available at each class and new visitors can grab a free “come and try” pass.

A Panel Speak Session will be held from 11am, including guest speakers and a special focus on diversity. A number of short activities for all participants will lead into the lunch and networking event at 12pm.

For those with little ones, a crèche will be available at the centre for the duration of the event.
