Iconic Australian music legend James Blundell is a veritable institution in Australian country music. Blundell brings his 25 year song history, from the original beginnings right up to his latest album Campfire; there will be something from each era.
James Blundell is unashamedly honest and comfortable in his own skin. He radiates an enthusiasm for everything that life has to offer and it’s this authenticity that has made him one of the most instantly recognisable and loveable artists in Australian music.
He is widely renowned for shaping modern Australian country music by infusing his influences of John Mellencamp, The Band and The Angels with the storytelling ethos of Slim Dusty and his lyrical insight, sharp wit and empathy for the working man.
Combined with his handsome good looks and country charm he has ensured there is no stopping his success across all demographics. Since 1992, when he first found mainstream success thanks to the smash hit single, Way Out West, with former Australian Crawl front man, James Reyne, he has continued to break records in the industry.
Blundell was the first young Australian country act to sign a major record label deal in Nashville, which has since paved the way for the likes of Keith Urban, Catherine Britt and Kasey Chambers. He is supported by Jonny Taylor.
Taylor’s last album, “Something To Say”, was met with critical acclaim in the music industry although many record company chiefs were unable to define his genre. Thankfully though Red Rebel Music embraced his unique style. Taylor says; “I spent a couple of years wondering how I could tailor my sounds to fit in one spot or another.”
Jonny Taylor has enjoyed mainstream success following a stint on the top rating television program, “Australia’s Got Talent”, in 2012. He received a standing ovation and touched audiences around the world with his original song, “Young Man”, a song written for a friend battling alcoholism. “Dig Deep” came out November 17, 2017 through Red Rebel Music/MGM Distribution.
