The Shire of Kalamunda is inviting community members to find out about career options at the fourth Kalamunda Careers Expo being held at the Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre on Tuesday 3 May 2016 from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

The Shire of Kalamunda is once again hosting the Careers Expo to help students and the wider community make an informed decision about their future options.

The 2016 Expo will include a variety of exhibitors, representing a range of career opportunities for students and community members. New exhibitors include Leeuwin Ocean Foundation, Skills Hire WA, Workplace Employment and Training Services and Electrical Group Training, as well as a new section for those interested in starting their own business.

Nine high schools and youth organisations will be attending, bringing over 700 students through the exhibition.

Shire President Andrew Waddell said, “With employment opportunities, particularly for young people, becoming ever more competitive, the Shire is proud to offer this free one-day Expo to assist the community to explore the range of career options available.”

“The event again features a motivational speaker, and this year Sheldon Phillips from ‘I Am Change’ will take to the stage to spark participants’ imagination prior to entering the Expo. Sheldon is a dynamic young person himself and he will be sharing his experiences to encourage others as they navigate future study and employment opportunities.”

The Kalamunda Careers Expo will be jam-packed with an array of exhibitors, providing young people with the opportunity to get first-hand information about different career pathways from training centres, universities, employment agencies and a whole host of industries and organisations.

A high level of positive feedback from the previous expos suggests this year’s expo is set to be another big hit.

The Careers Expo will be held in the Agricultural Hall at the Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre located at 48 Canning Road in Kalamunda.
