The Act-Belong-Commit Zig Zag Community Arts Festival is transformed this year! Imagine a community gathering that celebrates everything that is good about Kalamunda! This 33rd annual Zig Zag Community Arts Festival is going to bring the whole community together as never before. This year's event will be twice as large, last longer and involve even more of the Kalamunda local community and its supporters.
The traditional Stirk Park based Festival will be on from 11am to 5pm will feature all the popular attractions including 2 stages of entertainment, craft and food stalls, free children's and youth activities and of course the wonderful tree filled atmosphere of the park.
The Zig Zag Sound Shell Stage will have larger acts on the stage and demonstrations in front of the stage, including the ever-popular Zig Zag Gymnastics.
The Rotary Checker-Board Stage will showcase local folk, jazz and world music acoustic acts, and will include the Black Chooks.
Children's free activities will be as popular as ever, with children offered the chance to create in any one of dozens of art and craft activities.
Artisans' craft Market has become well known for the quality of crafts and the variety of goods offered. Food stalls will be the usual mixture of savory and sweet with an ecclectic mix of cuisine.
There will be a fantastic afternoon and evening Street Party from 3pm to 8pm. Entertainment, Craft and food stalls, amusements will fill the street with joy!
There will be three stages along Haynes Street, one at Barber Street, another near central Mall and at the top of the hill the main stage will host the finale of the Parade and the final headline acts.
The 5:00pm Festival Parade will end at the Main Town Stage on Railway Road, and later in the evening 'Odette Mercy and her Soul Atomics' will take to the stage for the finale performance.
