Youth Activities
 
The Shire of Kalamunda has partnered with Anglicare ‘Changemakers’ to provide Years 10, 11 and 12 students residing in the Shire, an opportunity to participate in interesting and rewarding community service projects.
 
Under the ‘Changmakers’ program, young people work in teams to identify and implement an activity that benefits the Shire of Kalamunda community.

High Wycombe Youth Space
The High Wycombe Recreation and Community Centre is open for young people to drop in on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3.00 – 7.00pm. The youth space is staffed by Parkerville Children and Youth Care workers, who are there to confidentially listen to anything on young people's minds.

Participants must be aged 13 years (or turning 13 years) or older to attend.


BMX Jumps @ Fleming Reserve, High Wycombe  
The BMX jumps and modification to the skate bowl are now complete.  


Kalamunda Skate Park
The skate park was upgraded last year, where one of the biggest half-pipes in WA was installed, along with upgrades to the park’s obstacles and new tables and benches for spectator comfort
  


Youth Advisory Group
If you are of high school age (up to the age of 25) and live in the Shire of Kalamunda, register your interest to provide a voice on behalf of young people to the Shire.

Filmbites Youth Film School
Filmbites Youth Film School teaches film production skills to young people aged 7 to 17. From their filming and computer studios in Lesmurdie and Wangara, Filmbites hold after school and weekend classes in Acting for Film, Filmmaking, Animation, Gaming and Sound.

Zig Zag Community Arts
Every year Zig Zag Community Arts form a youth committee and organise youth friendly events such as live band nights and entertainment at the Zig Zag Community Arts Festival.

Whatever you thought about Cadets WA, be prepared to revise it because it's better than you ever imagined. Cadets WA is a State Government funded youth development program, aimed at creating exciting opportunities for young people aged 13-18 years.

Youth outreach in the Shire of Kalamunda is designed to provide a range of recreation, information, support and community development.

The following agencies provide youth outreach services in the Shire.
All services are free of charge and confidential.

YouthCARE
Free and confidential school-based counselling services at high schools and primary schools within the Shire.

Parkerville Children and Youth Care Inc.
High Wycombe Recreation and Community Centre, Newburn Avenue, High Wycombe on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons from 3.00pm – 7.00pm.
