Some of the volunteer positions that currently need to be filled include a Podiatry Services Receptionist. Additionally, Meals on Wheels require volunteers to prepare and deliver nutritional meals to frail aged and people with disabilities, these services are administered from the Jack Healey Centre in Kalamunda.
Volunteers are also required at the Adult Day Centre in Forrestfield to assist our dedicated staff meet the social needs of the members. Entertainment, outings, meals and refreshments are provided, but most importantly the centre provides a warm and friendly meeting place.
Our Library Services also have opportunities for community members to be part of our important Books on Wheels service and other library based activities. Alternatively Volunteers can contribute to the community by becoming a Community Bus Driver. Volunteer drivers need to hold a current "MR" class licence. The role involves transportation of local groups and charitable organisations involving senior citizens on pre-arranged outings.
These are only some of the volunteer positions that are currently available. Volunteering is a fantastic way to learn new skills and to give back to our vibrant community. If you would like more information or are interested in volunteering, please contact the Shire of Kalamunda on 9257 9958.
