The Shire of Kalamunda has been directed by the Local Government Advisory Board to undertake a review of its ward boundaries and elected member representation. This is because the number of electors per Councillor has become imbalanced between the wards, as a result of varying population growth in different areas of the Shire. The review will look at the ward boundaries and the number of Councillors per ward, and will result in a greater equality in the number of electors per Councillor between the wards.
Members of the community are invited and encouraged to make a written submission expressing their views and proposals relating to ward boundaries and elected member representation. This review may result in new ward boundaries, a change in the number of Councillors per ward, or in total, or even a change to the names of the wards.
Please refer to the Boundary Review Discussion Paper (pdf, 3MB) for further information.
