Market Day Success leads to Additional Parking
Success of the Kalamunda Village Markets, ran on the first Saturday of every month, has led to the Shire of Kalamunda allowing additional parking space on Market Day.
A signed area of Stirk Park, off Elizabeth Street, in Kalamunda will be opened to allow for parking, starting from Saturday the 1st of November to ensure that both local residents and tourists are able to park safely and access the town centre, local businesses and the village markets.
Shire of Kalamunda Executive Manager of Community Services Kevin O’Connor said, “The Shire of Kalamunda has worked in collaboration with Rotary, The Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce and local business operators to address potential parking issues on Market Day. We are all extremely pleased with the result and believe that the additional allocated parking will ensure that residents and visitors are able to enjoy the Kalamunda Village Market experience.”
The parking will be available in November and December, following which a review will be undertaken of the initiatives success.
The Markets are run by the Rotary Club of Kalamunda and operate in the Central Mall through to Barber Street in Kalamunda from 8am onwards.
