An event which is quickly becoming part of the entertainment landscape of the Hills, the Kalamunda Karnivale a collaboration between the Rotary Club of Kalamunda and the local Haynes St retailers will be held on Sunday 29th November 2009.
The event celebrates the start of the Christmas festive season, promotes community participation and highlights local talent.
Haynes Street will again be closed to allow for this community street party and extended retail trade day. Local businesses have been asked to bring their product to the streets in the form of alfresco dining, decorative window displays or special opportunities to sample or view products. Local community groups and residents will be encouraged to participate in performances, competitions, displays and of course retail activity.
Throughout the day there will be street theatre, musical performances, fashion parades, kids activities, competitions, food and much more.
After sunset the stage will be transformed for a traditional nativity performance by the local primary school led by the three wise men on camel. The choir will perform carols and at the conclusion, Santa will make an appearance to wish everyone a very merry and safe Christmas.
The event which runs from 1 – 7pm has been sponsored by Shire of Kalamunda, Lotterywest, Healthway, Kalamunda CCI and Forrestfield Community Bank.
