The Kalamunda Farmers Market celebrated its 20th week of operation on Sunday 13th of September.
Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce President Robert Bentley said, “The Kalamunda Farmers market has come a long way in the last four months, surviving the winter period and now bursting into Spring. Locals can expect an influx of new seasonal produce at the moment including asparagus, peas and broad beans.”
“We also have farm fresh strawberries, organic breads, gourmet produce, eggs, fresh meat, vegetable seedlings, entertainment, Farmers Market merchandise and more.”
However, you get the impression that the Market is not about to become complacent. Market Manager Steve Harrap said, “Produce at a farmers market is seasonal and we have a range of growers who will come on board over the summer months with the commencement of the Stone Fruit Season. We encourage all farmers, growers and producers who may be interested in coming along to give me a call on 0425 890 146.”
The Kalamunda Farmers Market is a true farmers market, where shoppers can buy direct from the farmer, grower or producer in the Perth hills. The market is located in the Central Mall in Kalamunda every Sunday morning from 8am – 1pm.
