Kalamunda Community and Cultural Centre News Update July 2009

Content:  The public consultation period, in which residents were asked to comment on the business plan and concept plans of the new Kalamunda Community and Cultural Centre, has now closed.

CEO James Trail thanked those involved in the public consultation process saying, "The one hundred and one submissions received from members of the community suggest that a strong sense of community ownership is developing."

The latest Business Model for the Kalamunda Community and Cultural Centre includes an expanded art-craft gallery with a dedicated program of regular exhibitions, a wine and retail showroom; a display and showroom facility that will sell Kalamunda-made and branded products as well as outdoor recreation products associated with the Bibbulmun Track and two seminar-conference rooms, equipped with IT and audio-video facilities.

The project has received funding from the State Government and the Australian Government’s Community Infrastructure Program. The Centre is expected to be completed by September 2011.
