Journalism Workshop
Youth Action Kalamunda (YAK) with support from the Shire of Kalamunda, will be holding a workshop on Journalism Interviewing Techniques on the 8th and 15th of July. The workshop will be lead by Mr. Tony Serve – Journalist, Radio personality, broadcaster and Educator. Tony has worked as a Lecturer at Murdoch University and judged the State Youth Media Awards.
Shire of Kalamunda Executive Manager of Community Services Kevin O’Connor said, “The Shire of Kalamunda is always looking to support local community projects. The workshop adds to a range of other projects taking place in the up coming July School Holidays throughout the Shire of Kalamunda.”
Youth who are interested in Journalism and the newspaper industry are encouraged to attend. Registration is essential, as places will be limited to 10 participants per session. The workshop will run from 10am to 2pm and will be held at the Youth Action Kalamunda office 1/14 Mead Street (next to Alegria Studio) Kalamunda. A small fee of $5 includes the workshop as well as lunch and drinks.
YAK also produces the youth created Kalamunda Community Matters newspaper and is always looking for new writers aged up to 30 years. No experience necessary, local youth are encouraged to write on topics of interest to themselves and the community, sport, events, music and entertainment
