Acting for Film Workshop

Do you want to make a movie or find out how to give your best performance on stage?  During the first week of the July School holidays the Shire of Kalamunda is hosting an ‘Acting for Film’ workshop for youth aged between 13 – 18 years of age.

The week long workshop focuses on improvisation, set etiquette and character development, with the final product being a short film made by the students involved. It is fantastic opportunity for youth, who will be given the chance to learn from WA's award winning Filmbites Youth Film School.

Executive Manager of Community Services Kevin O’Connor said, “the film workshops are unique and give students a hands on insight into the world of film. Students who are interested in taking part should contact the Shire as soon as possible to ensure that they do not miss out.”

Filmbites is a unique school, based in Perth that allows youth the chance to learn all aspects of film production from concept through to  DVD production in hands on classes. Filmbites aim to help youth to become creatively and technically independent while being able to collaborate effectively in a group as they move towards either writing, filming, animating or in this case, acting in films that are strong enough to be represented in film festivals around the world.  Youth interested in film, acting and the like are strongly encouraged to participate

Due to the hands on intensive nature of the workshop places are strictly limited to 12, so if you are interested please contact the Shire of Kalamunda’s Youth Officer on  9257 9968 or email kala.shire@kalamunda.wa.gov.au to book your place today!

The ‘Acting For Film; follows a series of successful music video workshops hosted by the Shire of Kalamunda in previous school holidays and is one of the many projects organised  by the Shire of Kalamunda for local youth.
