New hairdressers and skin penetration premises are required to contact the Shire’s Health Service prior to opening. An initial inspection is conducted by an Environmental Health Officer prior to operating to ensure that the service and premises comply with the relevant standards. Ongoing inspections are then conducted at six monthly intervals ensuring a high standard is maintained.
Hairdressers and skin penetration premises wanting to operate from home need to apply to the Shire’s Planning Services for approval to operate a home occupation. Please contact a Planning Officer on 9257 9999 for further information on home occupation approvals.
