The Working with Children Check applies to all people seeking to work in child-related employment.
Child-related employment is any work (paid or unpaid) that involves direct contact with children whether supervised or unsupervised. Employment includes direct employees, sub-contractors, volunteers or where an individual is undertaking practical training as part of an education or vocational course.
If the position being applied for has been identified as a child-related position, applicants will need to show evidence of or obtain a Working with Children Check clearance card in accordance with the Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1998.
