The Committee will also undertake a Risk Management function to ensure risk management practices and procedures are fully integrated into the Shire's strategic and operational planning processes and day to day business practices.

Public Participation

Both the Standing Committees, Ordinary Council and Audit and Risk Meetings are open to the media and the public.  Council invites all members of the community to attend any Council or Committee meeting and learn firsthand how Council functions.

Provision is made during these meetings for question time from the gallery. This provides members of the public with the opportunity to ask the Council questions on matters of special interest related to the operations of either Council or the particular Standing Committee attended.

Members of the public have an opportunity to talk to items presented to the Standing Committee. If you have an interest in a matter that will be put before a Standing Committee please contact the Shire for further information on 9257 9999.

Due to the more formal nature of the full Council Meeting, people with interest in an item to be considered by Council may only address the Council on this item through a formal deputation.
